METALLICS! The new hottest trend in decorating.

For those of you in the design industry, it is hard not to notice the trend this year in objects.  Metallics, metallics, metallics!!  They have become the new neutral.  I am so happy the world is catching on!! I have always felt that investing in objects with metallic colors creates a sense of timelessness to your room.  Metallics  never really go out of style.   Wether it is a copper , silver or lavender metallic... there is a style for everyones room that is fitting.   They create interest to a room like a painting on a wall.  All the images featured here are traditionally Raku fired...

Yum!

Hi everyone!  I just had to share these pics with you.  Last Saturday I was in South Beach Miami for more of the endless medical tests that are being run.  Unfortunately, it sucks doing it on a Saturday, but fortunately I have this amazing boyfriend that likes to turn everything into a fun experience.  "Hunky John" surprised me with reservations to "The Bazaar", a restaurant by one of my new favorite chefs Jose Andres.   Maybe I should book more medical procedure in cities with fabulous chefs!!! Most of you know my passion for cooking and John's passion as a foodie of eating at top 50 restaurants...

Super excited about my new gift of vintage lace!

Ok, So how big of a coincidence is this??? I have these fabulous British neighbors that own the home next to mine.   They are an older couple, and I absolutely adore them.  I look forward to their visits, as they mainly live in England.  They arrived last week for a 3 week holiday (Julie and John).   I was so floored when they came by with this vintage lace for me.  Amazingly, the lace is a smaller round version of my most popular lace from Aix!!!  I love, love, love Julie and John for thinking of me...  So excited to start creating with my new lace.  Here is a tease of the pattern...

Check out Tovari Raku exclusively in New York at Bergdorf Goodman

Created for Bergdorf Goodman, these Raku objects were  traditionally fired in the 15th old century Japanese firing method.  I was inspired to create these unique one of a kind vessels from the shells I was finding on the beach at the Cote d 'azure.  I was intrigued by the shells I was finding inside beautiful shells.  Thus, creating "pods" that sit inside the vessels.  The lavender vases were inspired from the flowers I was working with while studying Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging.  Please check these out on the 7th floor at Bergdorf if you are in the New York area.  Xo Tracy   Tovari...

An afternoon with Kathleen VanBergen

All of my fans know how much I adore Kathleen VanBergen, (CEO of Artis Naples-formally The Philharmonic).  Upon receiving her email that she would be stopping by last Sunday , I had to pull out the black and white!  I think it is time to start offering the black and white platters and trays to my stores I supply to.  They seem to be my go to platter for all special occasions.  But I digress... I had a lovely afternoon, with whom I now call a dear friend, Kathleen.  She always makes me feel special and this time she did not disappoint.  Pulling up with a bottle of Moet to celebrate my Bergdorf...

My vintage lace finds in Aix en Provence…Thinking Spring line!

Ok, I know it is early to be talking about Spring.  But, I am anxious to start experimenting with my Spring line inspired by the lavender fields in Gordes Provence.  I made the kids sick driving an hour thru the countryside to get there.   Up and down mountains and winding roads.  One of the most inspiring moments of my trip was the lavender fields.  Love the green and purple tones.  I hope I do it justice!  Of course, it is hard to go wrong when using the lovely pieces of vintage lace I also found in Aix en Provence.  The sweet  French woman I worked with in getting the lace was absolutely...

My latest obsession… My New Matte finish

I have been trying to figure out how to preserve the organic look of my serving trays and platters, while still making them food friendly.   To make my items food friendly, they must be sealed.  My experience with matte finishes in the past have concluded in complete failure.  I am happy I decided to experiment with matte formulas again.  I truly love the way the matte brings out another dimension of texture and provokes a feeling that is unexplainable... you will just have to check them out in person!  My new obsession, along with the matte finish, are my tonal whites.  I felt that some...

Announcing Tovari for St.Tropez Home

I am very excited to announce that my Tovari line is now being offered at St.Tropez Home.  Please look for  my Raku vessels and platters at St.Tropez Home located downtown Naples  at 1300 3rd Street South.  It has been a dream of mine to offer handmade quality products at a commercial level.  I have always felt that gallery pieces do not always have to be offered in an actual art gallery.  The beauty of having a one of kind piece of art can really change the feel of a home.  Items that are massed produced and molded , often made in China,  do not have to become part of our future commercial...
